Choose the certification organization first

If an employer, school, licensing board, or clinical program requires a specific credential, confirm whether it must come from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC) before booking. HeartWell can help you compare the available course options, but the organization receiving your credential makes the final acceptance decision.

BLS or CPR/AED?

BLS is generally intended for healthcare professionals and others whose role requires a healthcare-provider level course. CPR/AED courses are designed for workplaces, caregivers, coaches, churches, community groups, and individuals who need practical response skills. First Aid may be added or arranged separately when required.

Class format and timing

Your class may be fully instructor-led or may include an approved online learning component followed by an in-person skills session. The available format, expected duration, participant count, location, and any online prerequisites will be confirmed before booking because requirements vary by course and certification organization.

What to bring

Bring your booking confirmation, any required online-completion certificate, and accurate contact information for credential delivery. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for hands-on practice. If you need an accommodation, contact HeartWell before class so the request can be reviewed with you and the applicable certification requirements.

Hands-on participation

Expect guided practice, demonstrations, feedback, and skills checks. Participants must meet attendance, conduct, prerequisite, skills-demonstration, testing, and certification-organization requirements. Registration or attendance alone does not guarantee certification.

After successful completion

HeartWell submits required course information after successful completion. Electronic credentials are issued according to the certification organization's processing requirements and timeline. Accurate participant information helps prevent delays.
